A Historic Casino Boat Becomes a Hotel
The river boat was built in 1923 and operated for 10 years along the Ohio River. By 1933, it became a st. Louis passenger steamboat and later an entertainment vessel. It was reborn as one of the first gambling boats in the U.S. by the president of a casino in Davenport, Iowa, in 1991. The historic vessel is currently being dismantled at Alton.
The five-story steel line will be divided into 15 sections to make it easier to reach the final destination in St. Elmo, Illinois, and will be converted into an 80-room hotel, convention center, and museum in Tower Lake's new permanent mooring. The project is a joint venture between the town of St. Elmo and a group of seven investors.
The Discovery Channel crew is recording the entire run of the new season of Mega Move, which will air sometime after the next season begins in January. It will also feature stories about the history of the river boat and a documentary focusing on celebrities who have performed there for years, including Lewis Armstrong, Tina Turner, Aloguri, and the rock band U2. 동행복권파워볼
